How Epoxy Flooring Salt Lake City Approaches a Floor

Epoxy Flooring Salt Lake City puts resin coatings on concrete: attached and detached garages, basements, workshops, storage rooms and commercial floors in Salt Lake City and the surrounding towns of Salt Lake County, with some work in southern Davis County, Lehi, Tooele and Park City. Our systems are epoxy, polyaspartic, vinyl flake broadcast and metallic epoxy. Which one goes on your floor is decided after we have seen the slab, not before.

Floors along the Wasatch Front fail for a handful of predictable reasons. Snowmelt and road brine sit on a garage floor for months. Old slabs, some of them poured before the Second World War, carry oil, paint and patchwork. Basements can hold more moisture than anyone expects in a dry climate. And a coating rolled over smooth, unground concrete has nothing to hold on to. Our process is built to deal with each of those before the first coat.

The way a job runs

  • Site visit. We measure the floor, look at drains, door thresholds, cracks, stains and any old coating, and find out what the room is for: daily parking, a workshop, a gym, a business.
  • Moisture check. We test the slab for moisture vapor. The reading decides the primer, and in a few cases it tells us a coating is the wrong fix.
  • Written quote. On paper you get the square footage, the system, every coat, all prep work and the total price.
  • Grinding. Every floor is diamond ground with dust collection to open the surface and remove weak concrete, sealers and old paint.
  • Repairs. Cracks, spalls, pitting and broken joint edges are filled and ground flush.
  • Coating. We check slab temperature and air conditions before each coat. If the garage is too cold or the slab is too hot, we move the day.
  • Return to use. You get a timeline for foot traffic, for moving shelves back in and for parking, based on the product and the temperature that week.

What we will not do

We do not coat over peeling paint or a failed kit, since fresh resin can only hold as well as the layer it sits on. We do not skip grinding to save a day. Wood, tile and vinyl floors are outside our work. If a slab is heaving, has a structural crack or takes on water, we say so and point you toward the repair it needs first.

If the scope changes after the quote, we put the change in writing and wait for your OK before doing it. To book a free estimate, phone (385) 527-3368 or send us the form.
